The Hocktons
The Hocktons had specific requirements for their new kitchen.
It had to have a big American fridge, a state of the art coffee machine, a breakfast/after school dining bar for the family, a large flat screen TV with DVD player and all appliances for regular use had to be built-in. It also needed to incorporate a more formal dining area whilst giving a large, light and clean kitchen.
Oh yes – It also had to be ready for Dave’s 40th Birthday party in 3 weeks time!
Dave & Bev spent a long time searching for the provider for their special investment. An important criteria was that the solution had to come from a local supplier. They contacted Jason who understood their needs and provided a design that they could view in 3D to help them visualise the finished project.
Mike & Jill - Hinckley
This is another tale of a deadline - Mikes 50th, this time in 2 weeks!
Colin and Jasons other challenge was that Jill already had lots of doors and panels waiting in the loft for 7 years. Moores rose to the challenge in big style. After producing 3 designs that used the existing door sizes (an amazingly difficult job) they produced the perfect design for them.
Mike & Jills kitchen is, and they don't mind us saying it, a bowling alley. It is only 7ft wide by 18ft long. Colin (enthusiastically hindered by Mike) ripped out the old kitchen and discovered a false wall. Taking this out extend the width in one part of the kitchen by nearly 8 inches. Trust us, those 8 inches counted for a lot, but they were to pose an interesting problem later on.
The Claytons
Having recently built an extension to their house, the Claytons were in the enviable position to have a kitchen large enough to hold a central island. They had a specific requirement though - they wanted a circular element to it.
Jason retired to our newly acquired workshop and designed and built a jig to make the bowed doors that the design required. After only one false start, Jason managed to treat the wood, build the frames and clad the doors.
Another feature of this design is the beautiful granite work surfaces. Moores have access to a granite cutting specialist to ensure a perfect fit and finish every time.
Bold and strinking colours, a high quality fit and finish combined with an adventurous design (whilst blending with and making best use of the traditional features like the Aga) ensure that this kitchen will remain a timeless beauty.
The Cottons
Space was the problem at the Cottons in Hinckley.
The Cottons had a number of small rooms at the back of the house, but they imagined a clean, bright space for their new kitchen.
This required walls to be knocked-down and a kitchen designed that complimented the beautiful conservatory.
They also wanted a special hand-crafted surround over the stove.
The team spent a lot of time designing and creating this, and the Cottons were delighted with it.
The gorgeous green tiles and green embellishments set the kitchen off to perfection and brings the garden into the home.
The Balls
The Balls gave Moores of Burbage an almost blank canvas - an enormous open area in a new extension. This kitchen was a designers dream.
A combination of hand made wooden topped centre island and sleek white furniture is the order here. There are many clever cupboards and pull-out larder units.
The counter-point is the green glass back-drop to the induction hob reflected by the same back-panel to the sink.
This dream kitchen sits next to a light, bright, open dining and entertaining area housing a wood-burning stove, super-comfy sofa and beautiful views to the garden
